Hoje tivemos a disputa do Mundial de Ciclismo de estrada 2014 e o grande vencedor foi o jovem ciclista de apenas 24 anos, Michal Kwiatkowski fez uma corrida incrível e conquistou o título de Campeão Mundial.
O vencedor deve boa parte de sua vitória a equipe de seu país, que fez um excelente trabalho de manter a fuga de 4 ciclistas, que se formou mais no início da prova, sobre controle.
A prova era muito longa, com 255km e durou aproximadamente 7 horas. A vitória de Kwiatkowski começou a se desenhar faltando 7km para o final, quando ele saltou do pelotão, que estava apenas 6 segundos da fuga, e se juntou aos 4 líderes.
Ele alcançou os 4 escapados no pé da última subida do dia. Ele passou pelo Mirador com uma pequena vantagem sobre o pelotão e arriscou tudo que podia na descida que levava para os 2 últimos quilômetros planos da prova.
Com o pelotão nervoso atrás dele, o polonês conseguiu superar o grupo e se tornou o primeiro ciclista de seu país a conquistar a Camisa Arco-ïris. Prova sensacional!
